Leading Lives named a finalist in the UK Social Enterprise Awards, recognising businesses which are changing the world.

Leading Lives has been shortlisted in 2 categories of the UK Social Enterprise Awards, recognising it as one of the leading social enterprises in the country.

Leading Lives based in Suffolk is a finalist in the UK Social Enterprise of the Year and Health & Social Care Enterprise of the Year categories. Leading Lives provides high quality, personalised social care support for people with learning disabilities and vulnerable adults including people with autism and complex needs both in the home and in the community across Suffolk and neighbouring counties.

Leading Lives recently celebrated its 7th birthday and we are proud of what we have achieved during this time, not only in delivering supports and services to some of Suffolk’s most vulnerable people, but also that we have supported a wide range of local groups and organisations who share our vision via our Community Benefit Fund.

Social enterprises are businesses which trade for a social or environmental purpose. There are 100,000 social enterprises in the UK contributing £60bn to the UK economy, each one being set up to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face from homelessness to climate change.

The UK Social Enterprise Awards run by Social Enterprise UK, the national membership body for social enterprises, recognise the nation’s most pioneering social enterprises.  Leading Lives will be joining other shortlisted organisations at the prestigious awards ceremony held at London’s iconic Guildhall on 4 December.

Commenting on the Awards, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK Peter Holbrook said:

“Every year the standards of applications for the UK Social Enterprise Awards gets higher and higher. At a time when public confidence in business is at a low and when we are facing crises both political and environmental – this year’s shortlist shows how business can be used to build a better world.”
