Your Life Our Support Award 2019

Sponsored by Ensors

This award is for a staff member or small group who have supported an individual or small group of customers in an activity or experience that has had a positive impact on the individual’s life or lives. This focuses on a specific piece of work which has supported people to truly live the life they choose.

This year we have 2 winners!

Leading Lives Award Winner

Winner: Tracey Green - Support Worker, Stowmarket Community Hub

Tracey is our first winner and is wholeheartedly committed to supporting the needs of others. She has been working 1:1 with some customers to develop independent living skills. Tracey is calm, patient and considerate, always taking the time and consideration to engage and connect with more complex people. Over the last year, her support has positively impacted on our hub customers; particularly a young man who is non-verbal and requires some interaction. Well done Tracey.

Leading Lives Award Winner

Winner: Beata Makowicz – Bury Short Term Enablement Team

Beata’s energy and commitment makes her a role model for others. She is 100% focussed on providing good support and the best possible outcomes to the people referred to her. Beata recently supported an individual with autism who found communication difficult, was withdrawn and not leaving his flat. Beata helped him to access a computer course, gain confidence, feel safer and take on training that could lead to employment. He said: “with each appointment Beata has tolerated my attitude and not triggered me into worse behaviour. It helps me that she is a likeable person, she understands me and it makes the support I have pleasant. She has encouraged me to attend some learning courses. She came with me which helped me with the stress of handling a new situation, without her assistance I would not have attended”.
